- Volunteering at an SVDP Thrift Store
- Volunteering at an SVDP Food Kitchen
- Volunteering at an SVDP Food Pantry
- Assisting with the SVDP Youth Ministry
- Organizing a Fundraiser
- Organizing a Food Collection
- Organizing a Clothing Drive
- Helping to organize an SVDP Conference In Your Parish
SVDP COMMUNITY GARDEN LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS
The Society’s Community Garden is in need of volunteers. The Garden is looking for people to weed, water, plant, pick, deliver the crops, run garden equipment, and many other volunteer opportunities.
Work days and times are Monday and Wednesday, 5:00 pm until sundown; and Saturday 8:00 am until noon.
If interested in helping out, contact Jim Yeager at svgardens@gmailcom . The Gardens provide thousands of pounds of fresh produce for area kitchens and pantries.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN ALTOONA THRIFT STORE
**** LOOKING FOR CLOTHING SORTERS****
The SVDP Altoona Thrift Store is looking for additional volunteers. Any time you can give will be greatly appreciated.
The store's proceeds go to assist needy families with, emergency financial assistance including utilities, housing, medical expenses, and other basic necessities. Clothing and household goods are offered at extremely affordable prices for area families. Clothing vouchers are available for individuals and families in need.
Store hours are Mon-Fri 9:00am – 5:00pm, Sat 9:00am – 4:00pm.
