The Altoona human needs office raised $1,489.20 with the help of local churches and businesses who collected gently worn and new shoes. The committee banded and bagged the shoes and were paid $.40 a pound. That’s a lot of shoes; over 3,000 pairs! Many were brand new shoes. The shoes will go to other countries like Haiti. Thanks to everyone that helped with the collection.
