Pirates Care-A-Van Brings Early Christmas for Saint Vincent de Paul Monastery Community Gardens

The Pirates Charities Care-a-Van is a charity that features players, coaches and front office employees making a difference in the community. On December 6 Jameson Taillon, Max Moroff, Nick Kingham, Jacob Stallings, Jeff Branson, and Jordan Comadena, from the Pirates charity, stopped by at the Altoona Curve PNG field to deliver much needed supplies for the Community Gardens.

Along with a check for $1,000.00, the charity filled the Garden’s truck with 12 crates for delivering produce, 4 boxes of Oakleaf garden tools, 10 Pirates Charities tossed hats, 8 pocket hats, 10 pairs of work gloves, and 4 foldout garden chairs complete with gloves, spray bottle, and zippered tool bag with garden tools.

It was a wonderful generous event with the ball players mingling and signing autographs. Pat Trimble, director of the SVDP Community Gardens said, “We thank the Pirate Charities for their largess, making our volunteers very happy by assisting our gardening efforts and advancing our goal of feeding the hungry. Thank you, Pittsburgh Pirates!” For more information about Pirates Charites Care-a-Van click on this link.
