The annual Mass and dinner for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown was held on Sept. 25 at St. Francis University. Members enjoyed a beautiful liturgy celebrated by Rev. Thaddeus Rettger followed by a reception/silent auction at the JFK Center. Tony Martin, WJAC-TV Meteorologist, kept us entertained and moved the evening along smoothly as our Master of Ceremonies. Deacons Gary Gill and Sam Albarano led us in prayer. The 2016 Ozanam Humanitarian Award was presented to the management, staff, volunteers and supporters of the Altoona Soup Kitchen. Our guest speaker, Rev. Aron Maghsoudi, gave a compelling and inspiring talk about faith, hope, and charity in Vincentian spirituality.
