Altoona

In an effort to reach out to the youth of the Altoona area, especially those in need, the Society became the operating agent of the Ravine Golf Driving Range in Lakemont.

The purpose of SVDP @ the Ravine is to provide activities and events as well as financial assistance for families with children. Profits from the range help to fund programs and assistance for area children.

3rd Annual Ravine Invitational Outing A Big Success

The 3rd Annual golf outing to benefit the SVDP Youth Ministry @ the Ravine was held Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Iron Masters Golf Course in Roaring Spring. Twelve teams competed and over $5000 was raised for the Youth Ministry.

As a part of the event the 4H Club from Evergreen Manors was invited to attend as part of a field trip to visit a nearby farm.

The Society has established its first SVDP Elementary School Confernce at St. Benedict Catholic School in Geistown.
