Support the Mission of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has announced a new way to support its Mission in the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese.

By going on line to purchase personal and household products through the Shaklee Company you help the Society which will receive 20% of all sales.

This is not a one time fundraiser but something that will be permanently in place for you.

To check out the site go to http://www.GiveToYourCause.com  and click on the St. Vincent de Paul site. While memberships are offered they are not necessary to make purchases and help the Society.

SOCIETY TO CELEBRATE 175TH ANNIVERSARY
2008 will mark the 175th anniversary of the beginning of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

In 1833 Blessed Frederic Ozanam and a small group of college students began a Mission to assist the poor and suffering in Paris, France. 175 years later the Society of St. Vincent de Paul continues that Mission around the world.

To celebrate our beginning the Vincentian Family in the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese will gather for a 2:00 pm Liturgy and reception on Ozanam Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Holy Name Parish in Ebensburg. All Vincentians, SVDP Volunteers and our supporters are welcome to join us for this celebration.

SVDP RECYCLING
The Society is in need of material for its recycling program.  We currently collect clothing (except winter coats) that is clean and in good condition but not quite suitable for resale in our thrift stores, belts, purses and shoes (no boots or high heals).

For more information on our recycling program and how you can donate
call 539-4627.

Volunteers Needed
We currently are looking for volunteers to work in our downtown Johnstown store located on Vine St. and our newest thrift store located in University Park Plaza in Richland.  We are in need of cashiers, sorters and cleaners.

Anyone who can help on a regular basis can call the downtown store at 535-4357 or the Richland store at 262-7901.
